The Breakfast Grille !

"They don't call it a breakfast grille for nothing bro" - warned a friend, a CEO in another organization, the night before the interview !

"The quality of their research is quite something lah" he commented.

He too was interviewed a couple of months earlier on BFM89.9 - the business station.

Usually,I am excited about this sort of a thing. I love a nice conversation - especially if its challenging. What more if it was with a friend and we are on air, to top it off !

Vani and I have known Norina for many years. We have lost touch for a while now but Norina is Norina. Warm and welcoming as ever. Always with a ready smile and a bear hug for her friends.

When I walked into the station today, I was for some reason nervous. Had a lot of things to say and was worried I may forget something. So i kept "revising" the names of all the GEW partners and the activities they are planning to do. Norina, after her market update, walked over and greeted me with a hug and a smile.

A few minutes later - time was up and i was on air ! Norina greeted me again on air and announced to everyone I looked nervous ! She also wanted to know if Vani was listening in and said, "Hi Vani, your husband is looking nervous" ! Now half of KL knows who my wife is - if they don't know it already ! ;-)

I lost my jitters as soon as I opened my mouth to speak. Retained a little bit of the nervousness but was fine overall.

We spoke about Warisan Global - if it was a profit company or a not-for profit company. It is a profit company with a social focus.

We spoke about some of our projects and finally about GEW and some of the key activities.

I spoke about KTAK's Social Entrepreneur forum at 40 locations, MVCA's VC2E event, the Lemonade story and more...squeezed in as much as possible. We also spoke about the Sarawak folktale competition. Talked as much as possible about our other partners. Before I knew it, it was over ! I wanted to speak more - but had to be ushered out.
